Small Victories artist books

The two public iterations of Small Victories, as part of Jozi and the (M)other city (curated by Carine Zaayman) and the Cape09 biennale respectively, resulted in the production of two artist books. Small Victories (2007-2008) and Small Victories II (2009) contain the collated collection of participants’ contributions, with supplementary photographs. They are digital publications, each in an edition of 10; two copies are included in Jack Ginsberg’s Centre for Book Arts at WITS Art Museum, Johannesburg.

For more on Small Victories see my chapter Participatory Art and the everyday: A South African perspective in Interactive contemporary art: participation in practice (2014), edited by Kathryn Brown, published by IB Tauris and available in hardback and paperback.
